Trippier will be unavailable for the England match because of a betting hearing.

Manager Gareth Southgate confirmed in a news conference that the defender is ineligible to participate due to the hearing, which was notified on Tuesday after the player withdrew from the team for personal reasons.

The 30-year-old made a high-profile move from Tottenham Hotspur to Atletico Madrid in the same month that he was accused with many suspected betting violations.

He has rejected the allegations against him, although a conviction may result in a suspension of up to six months.

Southgate has vented his anger at yet another off-the-field problem involving his players before England's match against Denmark at Wembley tonight (October 14).

Southgate stated, "I can't really say much about it because it's out of my hands."

"If I stop paying attention to the task at hand, there are a million distractions; this is just another distraction, but I have to push through it.

To paraphrase, "We haven't got him. The issue is what it is; I spoke with Kieran last week and was aware of it then.

In this case, silence is best. What is quite evident, however, is that I have zero say in matters of disciplinary proceedings. I have no place in determining the timing or outcome of events.
