The highest-grossing Call of Duty: Modern Warfare game in 2020; COD gambling on the rise?

The outbreak caused a strong 2020 for the gaming industry as many people stayed indoors playing video games. Similar numbers were also seen in games like FIFA 20, which made $1.08 billion in sales in 2020.

However, this also resulted in more esports betting.

In order to boost income, several games have modified their online services over time; elements like loot boxes and online sales were added to various games.

Many people are now wondering if there is a connection between loot boxes and problem gambling after a recent analysis commissioned by GambleAware revealed that just 5% of players were responsible for half of the cash earned by loot boxes, which totaled £700 million ($962.7 million).

A more encouraging development is that esports betting has continued to expand in line with the industry's rapid growth; it was projected that esports betting income reached $1 billion in 2019 and likely stayed around this amount in 2018.

Similar customers are drawn to esports betting, which is currently being used by more people than ever.

While the most popular esports betting games include League of Legends, CS:GO, and Dota 2, gambling on games like Call of Duty is currently on the rise.
