The 2020 Swedish eHockey Championship will have Svenska Spel as a sponsor.

The competition, which is now in its second year running and is played on EA Sports' NHL 20 and managed by NHLGamer, the region's leading eHockey event organiser, is in its second year.

"We are proud to also shoulder the role as the main sponsor of the Swedish Championships in eHockey," said Jimmy Sandberg, the project manager of sponsorship for Svenska Spel. "As the main sponsor of both the Swedish Ice Hockey Association and the Swedish E-sports Association SESF, we are also proud to be the main sponsor of the Swedish Championships in eHockey." We are firm believers that conventional sports and e-sports should be brought together through collaborative efforts.

The competition, which takes place between the months of August and October, consists of 1v1 solo matches and 6v6 team matches. Swedish players make up at least half of each team and all of the team leaders. At the beginning of October, the championship matches will be shown on Twitch, a live streaming network that is owned by Amazon.

"We want to reach new potential target groups that have an interest in hockey, and we want to raise interest in e-sports by working jointly with Svenska Spel. According to Christer Plars, the commercial manager of the Swedish Ice Hockey Association, one of the most significant aspects of the strategy the Swedish Ice Hockey Association is pursuing is to increase the number of individuals who participate in and have an interest in ice hockey. "It also feels good to be able to offer more people the opportunity to play ice hockey virtually, as it is a good complement while waiting for the major ice hockey tournaments to start back up again," said the CEO of the company. "In light of the current situation, it also feels good to be able to offer more people the opportunity to play ice hockey virtually."
