Over $287.2 million was wagered at Iowa sportsbooks in November, resulting in roughly $20 million in income.

The most recent to do so is Iowa, whose sportsbooks set new records for handle (total wagers) and income in November, bringing in $19.7 million in profit on roughly $290 million in wagers.

Gambling revenue in the state is about $2 billion for the year.

The total amount wagered in November at Iowa's brick-and-mortar and online sportsbooks was $287.2m, up 230% over the $87.2m wagered in November 2020. The record-breaking total of $280.9m in October was surpassed by a 2% increase in November's handling.

The average daily wager for the whole month was $9.6 million, up from $9.1 million in October.

The revenue was up 143% from the previous year and 201% from the prior month. The gains in November resulted in a new high in state tax collections of $2.1m.

Sportsbooks in the state have brought in $1.8 billion in wagers ($778,6 million in the previous three months alone), $101.1 million in income ($32 million in the last three months alone), and $7.8 million in taxes ($3.1 million in the last three months alone).

The state has had its three largest monthly handles in its short existence in the previous three months.

For the month of November, online wagering accounted for 91% of the total handling in the state, generating $16.8m in income, while retail wagering generated $2.9m in net receipts.

Caesars dominated the online gambling industry with $104 million in wagers and $4.7 million in income. DraftKings came in at #2 in online wagering with $75.1m. The introduction of Barstool Sports on November 2 resulted in $9.7m in handle.

Diamond Jo Worth led the retail industry with $6.7 million in bets and $2.3 million in income. Second place went to the Ameristar Council Bluffs with $5.6 million in wagers and $1.8 million in net revenues.
