DraftKings has just released their new game, Rocket, in the state of Pennsylvania.

Launched in New Jersey last year, DraftKings Rocket is now available in the other five US states with legal iGaming and in Ontario, Canada.

The participants compete against one another in real time, betting on the trajectory of the rocket's ascent and descent, and collecting their winnings when they successfully abort the rocket.

Several iGaming casino games are available to US customers of the sports betting firm, which is well known for its online and retail sportsbook. On the other hand, it only recently established a partnership with the Golden Nugget Lake Charles to offer the largest retail sportsbook in Louisiana from within the casino.

DraftKings' sportsbook at the Golden Nugget will now boast 12,000 square feet, including 3,200 square feet of TV screens showing live sports, 16 video poker machines, 3 blackjack tables, 300 lounge seats with VIP areas, and 30 self-service kiosks thanks to the new agreement.

Even though DraftKings Rocket didn't come out until this year, it exemplifies two larger industry trends: (1) the increasing prevalence of B2C companies using proprietary technology to create their own games; and (2) the cross-selling of sports bettors to online casino games, where revenue potential is far higher, so less players are needed for higher profits.
